Are Xbox systems backwards compatible with older games?

What kind of Xbox 360 do I have?
There are multiple versions of the Xbox 360. The common ones are the original white Xbox 360, the 360 S and the 360 E.
The original Xbox 360 has two memory card ports under the disc tray and holds storage externally on the top of the system.
The Xbox 360 S is the slim version. It has internal storage, is quieter, and is twice as powerful.
The Xbox 360 E is essentially a 360 S with a different case to match the look of the Xbox One.
What’s the difference between the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X?
The Xbox One outputs video at 1080p.
The Xbox One S is smaller and faster than the Xbox One. It can also upscale games to output at 4k.
The Xbox One X is the most powerful and can play games in 4k UHD.
What’s the difference between the original PlayStation and the PSOne slim?
The Original PS1 is much bigger and bulkier, while the PSOne has a smaller, sleeker design. The PSOne also offers a compatible 5-inch LCD screen attachment.
What’s the difference between the original PS3, PS3 Slim, and PS3 Super Slim?
The Original PS3 (or PS3 fat) is the first model. It has a glossy finish with “PlayStation 3” written on it.
The PS3 Slim is smaller, quieter, and consumes less power than the original PS3.
The PS3 Super Slim is even smaller than the Slim and has a sliding disc cover instead of a disc tray.
Are PlayStation consoles backwards compatible?
All PS2 consoles can play PS1 games, can use Dualshock 1 controllers, and can use PS1 memory cards. Some games, however, require the Dualshock 2 controller.
All PS3 consoles can play PS1 games, but the first model of the PS3 that has 4 USB ports is the only PS3 that can play PS2 games.
PS4 consoles cannot play PS3 games.
PS5 consoles can play all PS4 games with the exception of: Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume One, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It!, Robinson: The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go: Definitive Edition, and Shadwen.
